3218 Rothesay Road

3218 Rothesay Road is a two-storey Queen Anne style house. It is located at the intersection of the Rothesay and Gondola Point Roads, bordering the historic Rothesay Common area to the southeast.

3218 Rothesay Road is designated a Local Historic Place for its architecture and its association with the Robertson family.

3218 Rothesay Road is recognized in its unique architectural style which is uncommon in Rothesay. Built in the Queen Anne style, the house has a steeply pitched gable roof and a front veranda, which is partially glassed in.

3218 Rothesay Road is also recognized for James F. Robertson, a very prominent business man in Saint John. He built the house on 3218 Rothesay Road for his daughter Elizabeth Armstrong in 1902. The Robertson family owned the Carlisle, which is now known as Shadow Lawn Inn and is two properties further to the south on Rothesay Road.
