117 Cobourg Street

117 Cobourg Street is located on the north side of Cobourg Street, west of Morenz Drive, in the City of Stratford. The two storey brick residence was constructed circa 1857.

The property was designated by the City of Stratford in 2001 for its heritage value under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act (By-law 56-2001).

Constructed in 1857, 117 Cobourg Street is one of the oldest known residences in Stratford. The home is representative of early life and architecture within the city.

117 Cobourg Street reflects the Gothic Ontario House popular in rural towns across the province in the 19th century. Typical of this style is the “T” floor plan and high gables. Adorning the residence are radiating voussoirs over original double hung windows.
