Lamb House

Lamb House is a single storey wood frame house located on the east side of McLean Street in North Quesnel, BC. The historic place includes the building and the parcel of land it occupies.

The house holds social and cultural value as a physical reminder of the people who shaped the development of Quesnel. The house is named for Horace and Iris Lamb. Horace worked for the Pacific Great Eastern Railway, which after its completion in 1921, Quesnel experienced rapid growth and there were plenty of employment opportunities.

The house is also historically significant as it was owned and lived in by many prominent members of the community.

The character-defining elements of Lamb House include its:

- form, massing, and siting

- single storey wood frame construction with central entrance

- attic space with a small square window on the facade under the bracketed eaves in the peak of the gable roof

- sympathetic addition made to the rear of the house in 1962

- brick chimney

- symmetrical façade

- double sash windows on façade
