Valeur patrimoniale

Built between 1840 and 1850, the Haight Residence, also known as the William Haines Homestead, is a farmhouse located on a lot of two hundred acres, which is still farmed today. The site is valued for its virtually unaltered condition. The house and lands are a one of few remaining examples of the traditional Greek Revival country farms that once flourished throughout the county. The homestead is also valued for its association with its original owner, William Haines, who was a prominent public figure in the town of Hillgrove and was active in politics and local societies. The house passed to the Haight family in 1915.
