Carnohan House

Carnohan House is located at 123 James Street, on the south side of James Street, west of Helen Street, in Seaforth, in the Municipality of Huron East. The one-and-a-half-storey frame house was constructed in 1873.

The property was designated, by the former town of Seaforth (now Municipality of Huron East) in 1983, for its heritage value, under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act , By-law 46 (1983).

Carnohan House, constructed in 1873, is a good representation of late Victorian architecture. Workmanship and design are also of high quality on this house. Features of note include the original two-over-two and one-over-one, double hung, sash windows. The house also boasts of a cross-gabled roof, which creates a unique and complex roofline.
