Bond Store

The Bond Store is a one storey wooden structure located at 046 Gillam’s Lane, Woody Point, Newfoundland and Labrador. The designation is confined to the footprint of the building.

The Bond Store was municipally designated for its historic and aesthetic values.

The Bond Store has historic value because it was the building where all goods cleared customs to the Dominion of Newfoundland as they arrived aboard foreign vessels. This structure was built in the 1930s and was once located where the fishplant stands today.

The Bond Store achieves aesthetic value through its simplicity of design. This vernacular structure is a simply designed, functional, one storey wooden building with narrow wood clapboard, small windows, wooden doors and a flat felt covered roof.
